Stewarding Wealth for Generations
Stewarding wealth through generations requires to estate and gift taxes, governance, and your family’s needs. The Grupp Law Firm helps families reduce estate and gift tax exposure, set governance structures in place for long-term stewardship, and prepare future generations to receive and manage wealth.
In 2026, the federal estate and gift tax exemption is $15 million per person (26 U.S.C. § 2010), with annual inflation adjustments beginning in 2027. For families approaching or exceeding their available exemptions, thoughtful estate tax planning can preserve more wealth for future generations.
Our Process: The Heroic Family Journey
The Heroic Family Journey (HFJ) guides your family through four stages:
Discovery
We learn about your family, values, assets, and goals. We review existing documents and identify risks, opportunities, and priorities. This includes prior gifting, family dynamics, and operating businesses.
Design
We develop a coordinated plan and explain the proposed structures, tax implications, and tradeoffs. Together, we clarify how assets will be owned, managed, and distributed. During this process, we also coordinate with clients to receive valuations on their assets for gift tax purposes.
Implementation
We prepare and finalize the legal documents, guide asset transfers, and coordinate with your accountant, financial advisor, and other professionals on funding, valuations, and tax reporting.
Administration
We coordinate ongoing administration through a Private Family Trust Company or another Wyoming trustee, as appropriate. This stage puts the plan into practice through fiduciary oversight, trust administration, and periodic review as family circumstances and laws change.
